Maybe for such circumstances you could pay a higher daily rate in order to recruit captains with specific skill(s). It would be really nice if you could advertise for captains with a specific skill, then you could hire one temporarily for a specific task and dismiss them later. It's hard enough finding a captain that can train 2 useful skills, so hiring one that has 3 skills you want to use is next to impossible. Skills like Gunner, Gunman, Embarker, Navigator, etc are far more useful. These are really good ideas (especially the merchant ship suggestion, like a Barque), but captain slots and skills are precious and I'd hate to waste a captain just for the increased vision range when that's only useful a tiny percentage of the time. Port Royale 4 isn’t for everyone, this incredibly deep trading simulator set in 17th century Caribbean has a great deal of depth and you need to spend a lot of time learning how things work in. The AI will plunder it, but gain nothing, and you lose nothing. you are using them as scouts.Īdding on to this, put them on a ship without cannons. ![]() ![]() Also, from the classics, PR2 is probably the easiest one, so if you fancy a trading simulation but youre a complete newcomer, Id suggest getting either Port Royale 2 or 3.
